Well, we were up bright and early to catch our 10:30 a.m. flight. Even the Bell Boys are not there that early!
We stopped in the Sports Bar and had a drink. We were the first morning pick-up, and fortunately, we only picked up others at the other RIU resorts in the area. Everyone was late, and it was very annoying.
Security
Mom's purse and carry-on did not make it through Security without being checked. It was her pill box in her purse, and her Forteo injection in her carry-on. Believe it or not, they didn't even stop her at O'Hare....quite scary!
The 9:30 a.m. USA 3000 flight was delayed and eventually cancelled. We had extra room on our plane, so I'm not sure why they didn't move some of those people.
Flight
Mom and I had an empty seat between us again. I was sleeping soundly until we hit some major turbulence! I do not like turbulence. Anyhow, we landed early, and since mom had a wheel chair, we zipped right through all of the lines.
The Vacation is Over
You never get to truly enjoy or relax from a vacation, because something always happens! Dad picked us up from the airport and told us that Grandma wasn't doing well. Since we were so close to her house, we decided to go straight there. She was very disoriented and her hands were shaky. We picked up some new medicine that the ER prescribed, but unfortunately, the family didn't make her stay in like they wanted her to. They need to do what is right for her, and stop thinking that she can make these decisions. Tomorrow Aunt Char and my dad are taking her to her own doctor, so we will find out more! It's so scary leaving her alone.
Book Report
Sydney needed help typing her book report, so we picked her up on the way home, and I helped her. Her report was on China (naturally, I asked her why she didn't choose Mexico).
Needless to say, it's been an exhausting day!

Another New Job Idea
My mom said that one of her customers is a Nanny for a couple and she takes their kids to Mexico for the summer and over the holidays. They come to visit when they can. Sounds like my dream job!
Anyone know some rich people who need a Nanny?

RIU Tequila - Day 4
We woke up later today (about 8:00 a.m.).
Today was the hottest day yet!
On the way to breakfast, a giant blackbird landed on my head! I thought it was trying to steal my hair. It probably looked like a nest. I screamed and mom yelled at me! I think she would have screamed louder if it happened to her!!!
We went to the buffet for breakfast, then went to the Sports Bar to get some take-out to have for breakfast tomorrow. We have a very early departure, so we won't be able to eat at the buffet first. I'm sure going to miss the fresh squeezed juices for breakfast!
Pool
Not a lot to do today except the pool. It's hot, plus it's our last day to enjoy the sun, the pool, the food, etc.! It really flies by.
Freaky Sunburn
I discovered a way to cover my neck so that I wouldn't get red lines like I always do. Well, it didn't matter because I still got one red patch on the side. My face is bright red and blotchy and the center of my chest didn't get burned, but each side did. I look like a freak show! Not sure why I always get the weirdest sunburn. I guess that I won't be needing a Halloween costume. I will just go as a tourist!
Caribbean Party
They had a Caribbean party at the RIU Tequila today with a live band, dancing, towel art demonstrations, ice carving, and fruit/vegetable carving.
They made me dance, if you can believe that (well, I have the pictures to prove it!).
Lunch
Lunch was poolside, as it's the only option. Today, I had a nice julienne salad.
Pool, Pool, and More Pool
Basically, we just hung out and read. Mom was antsy and went in around 2:00 p.m.
Rain
We had another short shower before we got ready for dinner.
Dinner
They had a Caribbean theme for dinner. They had a lot of seafood, but they also had a lot of other things as well. Notice how I always mention dessert?....They had crepes tonight. Mmmmm!
Entertainment
Tonight is casino night. The guy who made me dance with him earlier remembered me and asked if we wanted to play Roulette. I've never played in my life, and I'm not really sure that I know how still, but we played till we ran out of chips. We didn't win!
A live band was playing music in the lobby this evening, and pretty good music too.
Casino Show
They also had their standard evening program, which had a casino theme. They tried to get me to participate in the pre-show activities, but I said "no way Jose!" Fortunately I did not go up there because the game consisted of guessing theme songs to movies (which I would totally lose because I never watch movies), a beer drinking contest out of a straw - male vs. female (I don't drink beer!), and lastly, pass the card with your lips and back again (H1N1!!!...They don't call me "Monk" for nothing!).
The casino show was very good. They did a lot of Las Vegas-style dances. The guy who was in charge of the Roulette table came and sat next to me. LOL He said he would be back (he had to emcee) but we left! LOL Before we left, two of the entertainers lifted me, my chair, and my laptop onto the stage because I didn't want to participate in the final show where they have guests dancing on the stage.
Packing
Mom and I packed, read, and went to bed!

Blogging
Day 3 - Evening
My two dinner outfits did not work out. My jumpsuit was annoying me, and my dress was too long. Did I get shorter since I got here?....I tried it on with my heels before I left. Good thing I always have enough options.
Check-Up
Before dinner, the front desk called to see how we were enjoying our vacation and to see if there was anything that we needed. We have experienced very good service here.
Steak House
We had dinner at the a la carte steak house tonight, which was a nice change. They serve Caesar Salad, some fried Veggies and Chicken Wings, Asparagus/Tomato soup, and your main course. Oh, and Baked Alaska for dessert (looks nice, but I didn't have any).
Cat?
OMG...I was calling the kitties over, and a little black one was coming, and then another (well, so I thought!). It turned out to be one of those raccoon things, and I didn't have my glasses on. I wasn't going to pet it!
Plaza Playacar
Mom didn't want to do anything after dinner, but I insisted on walking over the to Plaza. We had a lot of time to waste, so why not?
Grease Show
I love Grease, so I was excited that they were going to do Grease. Besides, anything is better than Michael Jackson!
It was really good. That is the skinniest entertainment crew I have ever seen!
Where Is Our Room?
After the show, mom wanted to go back to the room while I blogged 'cuz she was hot, but she actually didn't know how to get to our room. How long have we been here? I will see if she's in the room when I get back.
